The pain to your pocketbook translates into roughly $67 to fill up your average, 15-gallon gas tank.
To put it into perspective, AAA said that’s $24 more than what drivers paid this time last year.
AAA noted that the initial shock to wallets began in mid-March, shortly after Russia invaded Ukraine, when Florida hit a then-record high of $4.38 per gallon.
Gas hadn’t climbed that high in Florida since 2008, when it reached $4.08 per gallon.
