Deputies: Prison escapee captured in Central Florida after 62 days on the run

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. — A woman who escaped from a Florida correctional facility in December was taken back into custody by Flagler County deputies after 62 days on the run, officials said Wednesday.

Deputies said they caught up with Brittni Pozza, 27, on Tuesday night after they’d learned about her whereabouts during an unrelated investigation.

Officials said the Palm Coast woman escaped from Bradenton Bridge Female Community Release Center in Bradenton on Dec. 8. Her escape came seven months after a Flagler County judge sentenced her to 18 months in state prison on charges that included selling drugs within 1,000 feet of a school.

“Fugitives who try to hide in Flagler County will be found, arrested and brought to justice,” Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly said in a statement.

Deputies said over the past 30 months, before being sentenced to state prison, Pozza had been arrested on 18 different charges in Flagler County and four of those charges were drug-related.
