TAMPA, Fla. — First Lady Jill Biden will make two stops in Florida Friday afternoon, according to an advisory from the White House.

Biden will visit the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa first with National Cancer Institute Director Dr. Ned Sharpless.
The visit is a part of the Biden-Harris administration’s “Cancer Moonshot” initiative, aimed at accelerating progress rates against cancer.

Later that afternoon, the First Lady and the Deputy Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, John Tien, will travel to Opa-locka for a private listening session with military families at the U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Miami.

Through a collaboration with Disney and Blue Star Families, the stop will also include a book reading event as part of the White House’s “Joining Forces” initiative.
