First budget airline adds flights from Daytona Beach

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Avelo Airlines announced Wednesday that it will be the first budget airline flying in and out of Daytona Beach International Airport.

The airline is launching nonstop service from Daytona Beach International Airport to Tweed-New Haven Airport in southern Connecticut starting on June 22.

Airline officials said Avelo will offer twice-weekly flights on Thursdays and Sundays.

Introductory fares on the route will start at $49 one-way.

“With hometown airport access to Southern Connecticut, travel from DAB is now easier than ever,” Avelo Airlines Chairman and CEO Andrew Levy said. This new route will also make it easy for Connecticut residents to discover all that Daytona Beach has to offer.”
