VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — A fire on the roof of the Volusia County Jail caused the evacuation of 350 inmates Monday afternoon.
The fire at 300 Red John Drive in Daytona Beach was reported shortly after 1 p.m.
The portion of the jail is under renovation and Channel 9's Deneige Broom learned construction materials may be the possible cause.
The fire was reported to be out around 1:45 p.m.
