ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Update: One year after community members ferociously opposed a school district plan to put a school bus depot in east Winter Garden, city and school district staff confirmed a plan is in the works to give everyone a win.
City officials voted Thursday to acquire 15275 W. Colonial Drive for their bus depot.
The district’s plan was to put a new depot on the Orange Technical College west campus, which was the site of the first place West Orange County’s Black students were able to receive an education.
