Fiery crash shuts down northbound lanes of State Road 429 in Apopka

APOPKA, Fla. — A section of State Road 429 in Apopka was closed for hours Monday while crews worked to clean up the mess from a fiery crash.

It happened just after 6:30 p.m. in the northbound lanes of SR 429 near the Ocoee Apopka Road exit.

According to the Apopka Police Department, the crash involved two vehicles that both caught fire after the impact.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Northbound SR 429 remained closed hours later while crews worked to clean the roadway, clear the debris, and gain access to the areas damaged by the crash and fire

The crash remains under investigation.
