ORLANDO, Fla. — A 19-year-old woman was hit and killed while trying to cross a busy street near the University of Central Florida on Friday, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Alexandria Clark, of Orlando, was crossing University Boulevard near Alafaya Trail outside the crosswalk around 10 p.m. when she walked into the path of a BMW traveling east, troopers said.
The BMW, driven by a 21-year-old man from Merritt Island, hit and killed Clark, troopers said.
Clark was taken to Florida Hospital East where she was pronounced dead, troopers said.
A blood-alcohol test is pending for Clark, according to the crash report.
Troopers said the crash remains under investigation.
