Shortly after making contact with the driver, troopers identified him as 38-year-old Daniel Alfredo Cruz, who had an active warrant for his arrest out of Osceola County for the October 9 shooting at the Red Star Restaurant and Hookah Bar on West Irlo Bronson Blvd. in Kissimmee.

Troopers say Cruz was in possession of a loaded handgun when he was arrested. Both Cruz and the gun have been turned over to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.

Osceola County investigators say the hookah lounge incident started as a shootout between multiple people.

Before Thursday, none of the people involved in the shooting had been identified by the sheriff’s office.
