Investigators say the preliminary evidence shows a 2023 Nissan Rogue driven by a 66-year-old man from Sanford was headed south on State Road 415 just north of Osceola Tram Road when it crossed over the center line and collided with a 2005 Ford F-150 traveling northbound.

According to FHP, the initial collision caused the F-150 to rotate into the southbound lanes directly into the path of another pickup truck pulling a trailer.

The second collision forced the F-150 off the road where it also caught fire.

Troopers say the driver of the F-150 died at the crash scene. They’re still trying to positively identify him.

The driver and a passenger in the Nissan Rogue as well as the driver and a passenger from the truck pulling the trailer were all taken to the hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

All lanes of State Road 415 were closed in the area while troopers investigated exactly what led up to the crash.
