FHP: Fatal head on crash on Christmas Eve in Orange County

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a crash in Orange County on Christmas Eve Tuesday night.

Troopers arrived on the scene of a crash on U.S. Highway 441 (Orange Blossom Trial) and Wadsworth Road at 10:30 p.m.

According to the incident report, a 2008 Kia Optima was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes on Orange Blossom Trail north of Wadsworth Road while a 2018 Audi Q3 was traveling southbound in the outside lane of Orange Blossom Trail.

As the Kia was traveling the wrong way it collided with the front of the Audi.

The driver of the Kia, a 39-year-old man out of Orlando, was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.

The driver of the Audi a 62-year-old woman out of Eustis was pronounced dead on the scene.

This crash is still under investigation.
