FEMA assistance deadline for Hurricane Nicole is approaching, here’s how to apply

ORLANDO, Fla. — The clock is ticking for some Central Florida counties to apply for Federal Emergency Management Agency assistance for Hurricane Nicole.

Homeowners who suffered damage or property in Brevard, Flagler, Lake, Putnam, St. Johns or Volusia Counties can apply for federal aid.

FEMA disaster assistance could be financial, rental assistance, hotel costs reimbursement, temporary housing funding, and funds to repair damage caused to your home.

FEMA said the aid could also be used for other items and services related to the disaster but would only supplement “basic needs” not covered by insurance.

You can apply through the following four ways:

  • Call the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362, available from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Eastern Time.
  • Click here and click on the blue “Apply Online” icon.
  • Download the free FEMA mobile app.
  • Visit a Disaster Recovery Center. Find one close to you by clicking here or texting DRC and your ZIP code to 43362.
