WINTER SPRINGS, Fla. — State transportation officials recently lowered the speed limit along a busy road in Winter Springs.

City officials said the Florida Department of Transportation has reduced the maximum speed permitted along a stretch of State Road 434.
The new speed limit of 45 mph runs from State Road 419 to State Road 417.
In November, crews began removing the 50 mph signs from along SR-434.
Winter Springs said the new 45 mph limit was put into effect by FDOT “to create a consistent speed limit throughout the city and improve safety along one of our busiest roadways.”
