FDEO: Orlando Metro gained highest number of private sector jobs in December

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orlando area gained the highest number of private sector jobs in December 2021, state officials said Monday.

According to a report by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, the Orlando Metro had the fastest private sector job growth rate among all metro areas in Florida.

Officials said Orlando added 87,900 new private sector jobs and reported a 3.8% unemployment rate.

FDOE reports leisure and hospitality industries had the most growth with a gain of 32,800 jobs.

According to state statistics, Florida has gained 1,168,400 private sector jobs since April 2020.
