To her family, 21-year-old Alexandra Dulin was “an energy.” To her 1.2 million followers on TikTok, she was known as “Ali Spice.”

“One of our friends nicknamed her that because she just had a bit of that in her,” her father Jimmy Dulin said. “It was a very appropriate name and it just stuck with her.”

Dulin, like those TikTok followers, is now mourning the loss. He says the family’s phones have been getting constant alerts from followers showing their support.

“I bet I have hundreds, maybe thousands of messages from around the world that, you know, your daughter was the person I woke up to every morning so I could get the confidence to go through my day,” Dulin said. “She had a big heart and she cared about people.”

According to FHP, Dulin was in a car with three other people traveling eastbound on State Road-44 just east of Interstate 4 Sunday afternoon when a pickup truck traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes collided with them head-on.

Dulin and two others in the car with her were killed. Only the driver survived with serious injuries.

The suspected driver of the truck was seen running away on foot. Witnesses described him to troopers as a heavy-set white man.

In an update Tuesday, troopers said they were able to identify and speak to a woman who was a passenger in the suspect vehicle but she’s been “reluctant” to identify the driver.

As much as he wants that person in custody, Dulin says he’s holding on to hope that the wheels of justice will turn soon.

“I have all the faith in the world that this is coming to a conclusion,” Dulin said. “As a parent who lost their child, I certainly want this done as quickly as possible, but I am far more concerned that it’s done right and they serve the maximum sentence the law allows.”

When asked what he would like to say to the driver who took off, Dulin says his message is simple.

“So far this person has demonstrated no level of integrity, no level of personal responsibility, and no consideration for the families,” Dulin said. “There are four families that have had their worlds rocked. The only thing I’d like to see happen is the person own what they’ve done.”

Troopers say they’re in the process of executing search warrants to gather more evidence. Their investigation into the crash is active and ongoing.
