AUBURNDALE, Fla. — A 27-year-old Auburndale man was found dead in his apartment after a woman he met online and her three accomplices robbed and shot him, investigators said.
Adam Hilarie met the woman on an online dating site and arranged a date for Thursday night, the Auburndale Police Department said.
After dropping off the woman, later identified as Haliey Rose Bustos, 18, she is accused of recruiting three men to go back to Hilarie’s Sunset Avenue apartment and rob him, officers said.
At some point during the robbery, Hilarie was shot and killed, investigators said.
He was found shot to death at about 6:43 p.m. Friday, the Auburndale Police Department said.
According to a GoFundMe account set up to help Hilarie's family, he was the father of a 5-year-old girl.
Police were able to identify Bustos as a suspect in Hilarie’s death and she was arrested along with Andre Maurice Warner, 26, Gary Terrell Gray, 31, and Joshua Ellington, 26.
All four were charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit robbery and robbery with a deadly weapon.
