LAKE COUNTY, Fla. — A pedestrian died, and a motorcycle rider was seriously injured in an overnight crash early Sunday morning on State Road 429 in Lake County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred near mile marker 42 in the southbound outside travel lane of State Road 429. Troopers reported that a 2020 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling southbound when it struck a pedestrian who was standing in the direct path of the vehicle.
Emergency personnel pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene following the collision.
Medical personnel transported the motorcycle rider to HCA Lake Monroe Hospital with serious injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
