Fatal DUI accident on OBT leaves one dead

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A drunk driver in a 2016 Lexus was traveling southbound on Orange Blossom Trail when they struck a pedestrian, causing a fatal accident on the major road.

Alyssa Winters (Age 26) drove south of Skyview Drive and traveled in the center lane. Another pedestrian was walking from East to West, entering the Southbound lanes of S. OBT.

The pedestrian entered the direct path of the 2016 Lexus without using a marked crosswalk and as a result, the front of the vehicle struck the pedestrian.

The driver remained on-scene while the injured pedestrian (Adult Female) was transported to ORMC and later pronounced deceased.

Updates will follow once FHP has positively identified the woman deceased. This crash remains under investigation. However, Winters was arrested for a DUI.
