KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Friends and family came together Sunday to remember the life of Lauren Winston, a young woman who was killed by a hit-and-driver in downtown Orlando.
They are urging the person who took her life, to turn themselves in.
“This was her jam, to have her friends come over, sit on the floor, eat popcorn out of bowls,” said Lauren’s mother, Sherri Winston.
The occasion was somber as friends and family shared their memories of Lauren.
“For her to be as good of a person as she was, she didn’t deserve to go out like that,” said Lauren’s friend Travis Cochran.

Lauren Winston was killed Nov. 6, when Orlando police said the driver of a 2015 two-door black Challenger hit her at the corner of East Washington Street and North Magnolia Avenue, then sped off.
Orlando police said that person hasn’t turned themselves in, but they know who owns the car.
They believe the driver is hiding out to avoid them. This is something Lauren’s mother said is causing the family more than double the pain.

“We need some kind of closure. We deserve that,” Sherri Winston said. “I’m appealing to the heart of people with family. You’re a mother, you’re a dad, you’re a sister.”
Orlando police said the car has Florida tag number B4M SF.
Anyone with information on this hit-and-run incident is asked to call the Orlando Police Department at 321-235-5300 or Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS (8477).
