Central Florida voters have let their voices be heard on several amendments. See the round-up below:
- A measure to stabilize rent in Orange County is heading toward approval by voters, according to early results.
- Orange County voters shot down a one-cent transportation system surtax Tuesday.
- The Osceola County transportation tax is heading for approval by voters, according to early numbers.

Rep. Carlos Guillermo Smith lost his reelection campaign to Republican Susan Plasencia in Florida House District 37.
9:22 p.m. update:
Democrat Anna Eskamani won reelection to Florida House District 42 seat.
9:10 p.m. update:
Wilton Simpson won Florida’s agricultural commissioner race, and Jimmy Patronis has won Florida’s chief financial officer race.
8:55 p.m. update:
Democrat Darren Soto has reclaimed his seat representing U.S. House District 9. Soto defeated Republican Scotty Moore.
8:51 p.m. update:
Orange County voters shot down a one-cent transportation system surtax Tuesday.
According to early results, 58.46% of voters voted against the penny tax in Orange County.
The 1% sales tax increase would have paid for an expanded bus system, SunRail system and road and bike path projects throughout the county.

Republican Bill Posey has reclaimed his seat in U.S. House District 8, and Republican Cory Mills won the U.S. House District 7 race.

Republican Daniel Webster has won reelection to U.S. House in Florida’s 11th Congressional District and Republican Michael Waltz has won reelection to U.S. House in Florida’s 6th Congressional District.
8 p.m. update:
Gov. Ron DeSantis, Sen. Marco Rubio and Attorney General Ashley Moody have all reclaimed their seats.

7:50 p.m. update:
Democrat Maxwell Alejandro Frost defeated Republican Calvin B. Wimbish to become the first member of Generation Z to win a seat in Congress.
Early poll data from the midterm election shows Frost receiving 59% of the votes to Wimbish’s 39%.

Polls have closed in Florida. Results are pouring in from across the state.

Polls across Florida are open until 7 p.m.
In Lake County, there have been no issues reported with many voters experiencing minimal wait times at most locations.
At one polling site in Leesburg, a steady stream of voters could be seen casting their ballots.

Seminole County Supervisor of Elections reported that more than 25,000 people voted since polls opening on Tuesday.
