ORLANDO, Fla. — What was supposed to be a dream vacation to Disney World turned into a nightmare for one British woman after winding up in the intensive care unit.

The family of 76-year-old Patricia Bunting is asking for help to her back to the England.
For the past few weeks, she has been fighting for her life in the hospital, after contracting COVID-19 and the flu.

“The fireworks, she loved to watch all the characters,” said her daughter, Emma Bunting. “It’s just such a lovely place to be. Everybody’s happier. And that’s what makes up the memories.”
For the past two years, Bunting has saved up to go on what she knew would be her last vacation to Disney World.
For the last 20 trips to Orlando, her daughter, Emma, said she purchased travel insurance, but this time with her emphysema and a heart condition; the 76-year-old was quoted for a whopping 3 thousand dollars and didn’t get it this time.

“And she’s never needed it. Never once come down with a cold. Never once needed to see a doctor,” said Emma. “She was stuck between a rock and a hard place - do I go or do I not? She thought I’ll go - it’s not the best situation to be in, but she never thought she’d be in the situation.”
Just days before ending their Disney vacation - Patricia collapsed.
She stayed in Intensive Care Unit at Orlando health for five days fighting COVID-19 and the flu.
Now she’s developed pneumonia among a list of other complications over her month’s stay in the hospital.
It will cost her family tens of thousands of dollars to get her on a medical flight back home.
“We just want to get my mum home,” Emma said. “To get her home to everyone who loves ya, supports ya. She just needs the family unit around her, so she knows she’s loved by so many.”
Patricia would need a medical flight to get home and without travel insurance the family was quoted anywhere from 50 to 110 thousand dollars.
The family said that is beyond reach and know it’s unlikely she’ll be home for Christmas, but getting her home soon could be a Christmas miracle.
The family has set up a GoFundMe link that has raised $37, 000.
