Brittany Charboneau, a professional runner from Colorado, is attempting to win all four.

She’s won the first two races of the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend and hopes to become the first to sweep The Dopey Challenge.

“It would be awesome to win all four. But I think my bigger goal is it would mean so much more if I win them. But I walked away from each being like, ‘I just had a blast. I did my race plan.’ I ran for myself — that’s why I’m here is just to kick my year off of running with this. This is for me because I love Disney,” Charboneau said.

Charboneau takes her costumes seriously. She was Elsa from Frozen in the 5K, Joy and Bing Bong from Inside Out are planned for the half marathon and 10K, and then she plans to run 26.2 miles in a Cruelle DeVille get-up.

“For the half marathon, I have a wig and for the full marathon I will be spray painting my hair half black half white, hoping that this humidity holds up,” she said.

Seeing different characters at every mile marker and running through the park are all part of the Disney Marathon experience. But it’s been turned up a notch for Disney World’s 50th anniversary.

“It’s a big deal that it’s happening and that we’re back in person. This is such an amazing time that that’s happening too, so it’s just I feel like extra special and extra sparkly, which I mean, that just makes me even more happy,” Charboneau said.
