APOPKA, Fla. — Documents have been released from a 2009 investigation into a former Apopka Elementary School teacher accused of molesting a former student.

Donald Sharp, 66, was accused by a high school student of inappropriately touching her while she was in third grade.

Documents showed that Sharp had students sit on his lap during class, for which he was reprimanded in 2009 by the Orange County School District.

Sharp's statement said at the time, only two students sat on his lap, but statements from students said sitting on his lap was common practice.

Documents showed that, after parents were notified, they did not want their children removed from the classroom.

Sharp had young boys sit on his lap, and some students questioned why he was rubbing student's backs, according to the documents.

In February 2009, Sharp allegedly put a bread bag in a girl's pocket and slapped her bottom, but school officials reported never seeing him do that. Student's called it the bread bag tag, according to statements.

School officials sent Sharp a letter telling him that his actions were inappropriate and shouldn't continue. He was asked not to come back after performance issues.

Sharp remains in jail with no bond.
