Orange County Public Schools is lining up construction for a new school at the western edges of the county.

The school district is working on a $38.22 million campus for up to 837 students from Pre-K to fifth grade along Westhaven Oak Drive in Horizon West, located inside a neighborhood with hundreds of homes from Toll Brothers.
OCPS is targeting a roughly 15-acre site owned by an entity tied to Indiana-based Withers Properties for the project.

A new building would be a relief school for Water Springs Elementary School, which has over 1,391 students as of February.
The Horizon West area — south of the city of Winter Garden and near Walt Disney World Resort — continues to add residents and is among the 20 fastest-growing housing markets in the nation, according to Yardi Matrix subsidiary StorageCafe.
