Disney’s hometown, inspiration for Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom, to host 100th celebration

MARCELINE, Mo. — The birthplace of a dream that changed the entertainment landscape forever is gearing up for a major celebration.

Marceline, Missouri, Walt Disney’s hometown, is gearing up to celebrate the 100th anniversary of The Walt Disney Company.

Disney moved to Marceline when he was 4 years old. The town’s Main Street would later become the inspiration for Main Street, U.S.A. at Magic Kingdom.

The Walt Disney Hometown Museum will host the celebration on Saturday that includes a street fair on Main Street, a clock dedication celebrating “a moment in time,” a night at the Disney Family Farm, fireworks and more.
