ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Orange County deputies confirmed an unborn child has died after a pregnant woman and a man were shot in Orange County on Saturday night.
The shooting occurred at the Los Robles apartment complex on Silver Star Road around 11:30 p.m., deputies said. Deputies said Monday that the shooting was not a random act.

Deputies said the woman who was shot was seven months pregnant.
Investigators said both adult victims are in stable condition, but the unborn child died Sunday due to the mother’s injures.

The victims are a couple and they were the parents of the child, deputies said.
Deputies are working to determine what led up to the shooting.
A neighbor said it can be hard to avoid falling victim to crime in this neighborhood.
"I'm sure as a pregnant woman… she wasn't putting herself in a position to get shot, but in this neighborhood sometimes you cant avoid it," neighbor Megan Woodman said.
Hours before the shooting, deputies responded to the same apartment complex after reports of a strong armed robbery.
Deputies said in that case a man was beaten up for his phone. The suspect in that case was arrested before he could leave the complex, deputies said.
Deputies said the shooting and the armed robbery are not connected. They have not released any information about a possible suspect related to the shooting.
The Orange County Sheriff's Office said it is increasing patrols in the area. They said the investigation into the shooting is active and ongoing.
Killing an unborn child by hurting or killing the mother is a felony in Florida.
The mother of the male victim told Channel 9 on Tuesday that her son is awake and speaking and underwent surgery earlier that day. The female victim's mother-in-law said she opened her eyes Monday.
