OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — A man was fatally stabbed and another man was injured Tuesday morning at a motel near Kissimmee, the Osceola County Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies were called to the Days Inn on Polynesian Isle Boulevard near West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway and North Poinciana Boulevard after someone reported a stabbing, Osceola County Capt. Jacob Ruiz said.

"Outside of one of the hotel rooms, deputies encountered an adult male on the ground who was bleeding from unknown injuries," Ruiz said. "Inside that room, deputies found another adult male with multiple injuries."

Investigators said the man inside the room was pronounced dead. They said the man outside the room was taken to a hospital.

Deputies didn't release either man's identity.

The stabbing was frightening enough for motel guest Alexess Perez and her family to head home to New York early.

"I didn't hear or see anything," she said. "I was asleep. Nothing woke me up.

"We cut our trip short. We're about to leave tonight.

The incident remains under investigation.
