ORANGE COUNTY, Fla.,None — Neighbors in an East Orange County community said they're fed up with a registered sex offender who has allegedly been lurking around children.
Parents said Oanh Le watches their children at the bus stop at Econolatchee Trail and Kinloch Drive. Parents want Le gone because they fear he might go after one of the children.
“This predator seems to be fearless,” said parent Toni Taylor. “He's meeting the kids at the bus stop. He's watching them. They're afraid.”
Le appeared on the To Catch A Predator TV show in 2009 and was jailed in Flagler County on charges of attempted lewd and lascivious battery with a child and lewd exploitation of a child. He was convicted of those crimes.
The students told WFTV reporter Ryan Hughes that Le hangs out behind a sign as they wait for the school bus a few feet away.
“He'll be standing over there like it's not a big deal and acts like he's on the phone with someone,” said 8th grader, Alexis Taylor. “Every day he'll be there, every day.”
Parents said they have had enough. They've called the sheriff's office three times. WFTV was at Le’s home Thursday when deputies went to talk to him. But deputies said it appears Le isn’t breaking any laws so he hasn’t been arrested.
“I'm not going to stop until he gets out of here,” said neighbor Noral Rivera.
Neighbors are passing out flyers with Le's picture to warn people he's in the area.
