Deputies investigate deadly crash involving train, pedestrian

MARION COUNTY, Fla. — Marion County deputies are investigating a deadly crash involving a train and a pedestrian.

Deputies said they responded to a train versus pedestrian crash at about 11:15 p.m. Thursday along the railroad tracks between Southeast 52nd Street and Southeast 62nd Street.

Deputies said they found a dead person at the scene. A death investigation is being conducted.

Southeast 52nd Street was closed while deputies investigated. It has since reopened.
