Deputies: Driver who killed 2 children, struck 4 others in hit-and-run crash arrested

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. — The Broward County Sheriff’s Office said it has arrested a driver who struck six young children in a hit-and-run, killing two of them.

The crash happened just before 3 p.m. Monday. Investigators said 27-year-old Sean Greer was traveling southbound on Northwest Ninth Avenue when a bus stopped to drop off a passenger.

They said as the bus pulled out, Greer failed to allow the bus to merge and passed it, almost striking the front driver’s side as it cut in front of the bus.

Greer then veered right, drove off the road and onto the sidewalk and driveway, striking six children, investigators said.

After the crash, the investigators said Greer sped away from the area.

Andrea Fleming, 6, and Kylie Jones, 5, died at the scene. Draya Fleming, Laziyah Stokes, Johnathan Carter and Audre Fleming were taken to a hospital, according to deputies.

Investigators said physical evidence at the scene and information available led detectives to identify the vehicle involved.

On Tuesday, law enforcement officers found Greer and he was arrested.

Greer confessed to his involvement in the crash, deputies said.

Greer faces two counts of leaving the scene of an accident involving death, two counts of leaving the scene of an accident involving serious bodily injury, two counts of leaving the scene of an accident involving injuries, tampering with evidence, four counts of driving without a license causing death and/or serious bodily injuries and driving with a suspended license.

Greer is also currently on probation for burglary of a dwelling in Broward County, deputies said.
