VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — A fireworks store employee was arrested after deputies said she stole thousands of dollars’ worth of fireworks from her place of employment.

Deputies said 33-year-old Jessica Clark of DeLand was caught stealing more than $14,000 worth of fireworks from the Four Seasons Fireworks store Monday.

Investigators said that on several occasions, Clark had loaded her vehicle full of fireworks she had taken from the store, which she later planned to resell.

Deputies said that when the store manager confronted Clark about the thefts, she confessed to stealing the fireworks and said she planned to sell them to pay off some personal debts.

Clark was arrested on grand theft charges and booked into the Volusia County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
