DeLand police investigating reports of suspicious vehicle following children to and from school

DELAND, Fla. — The DeLand Police Department says they’ve taken multiple reports in recent days of a suspicious vehicle following children to and from local schools.

The vehicle is described only as a black passenger vehicle driven by a man.

In at least once instance, the man was said to have asked a child to approach the vehicle.

Police say the child ran to a nearby home and waited with an adult there until officers could respond.

The police department is asking anyone with information on the case to call them at 386-626-7400.
