Debate over proposed COVID-19 bills, including vaccine mandates, continues in Tallahassee

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Tuesday marked day two of the special session in Tallahassee.

The house met in the morning to go over the proposed COVID-19 bills.

During a large rally, speakers from all over the state, including Central Florida, took the stage. Among them was former Orange County Battalion Chief Stephen Davis, who was fired after refusing to write up firefighters for what the county said was a violation of the vaccine mandate.

Dozens rallied in support of Gov. Ron DeSantis outside the capital, calling him the greatest governor in America. Meanwhile, Democrats inside were disappointed they could not get their amendments to these bills through the house.

The bills still continue to divide not only the politicians, but also the people they serve.
