ORLANDO, Fla. — One person was killed and another person was transported to the hospital after two airplanes crashed Thursday afternoon at Orlando Executive Airport, fire officials said.

Crews responded to the scene of a reported plane crash at the airport just after 5 p.m. regarding two aircraft that crashed, according to the Orlando Fire Department.
One person was dead upon arrival and another person was transported to the hospital, firefighters said.
The plane was doing tests on the tarmac at the time in what’s called the “run-up” area, off the runway where pilots check engine performances without affecting takeoffs and landings..

Airport officials said the small plane was one of four damaged.
NTSB and GOAA are assisting Orlando firefighters with the investigation.
