Thousands of plastic planters burn in massive blaze at Osceola County nursery supply company

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — Firefighters from Osceola and Orange counties battled a massive fire Thursday morning at a nursery supply building.

The fire broke out around 1 a.m. at a Nursery Supply Inc. near Poinciana Boulevard and U.S. 17.

The biggest challenge for firefighters was the plastic pots inside burning.

The flames flew up and over multiple businesses with a thick black cloud of smoke for nearly five hours until crews started to push back the flames.

A hazmat team was on scene all morning checking the air quality.

Officials said no one was hurt and no evacuations were ordered.

An Osceola County Fire Rescue spokesperson told Channel 9 that he believes a propane tank at the facility may have exploded.

Fire investigators are still working to determine what caused the inferno.
