COVID-19 vaccination appointments fully booked at Publix for seniors and those deemed ‘extremely vulnerable’ by a doctor

COVID-19 vaccination appointments were available Monday for seniors and those considered “extremely vulnerable” by a physician.

The following people were eligible to receive the vaccine at Publix:

  • People aged 65 and older
  • Health care personnel with direct patient contact
  • Residents or staff members of long-term care facilities
  • People deemed “extremely vulnerable” by a physician

Residents who made an appointment online Monday will be able to receive the vaccine starting Wednesday.

The stores will administer 100 to 125 vaccines per day, and an appointment is required.

Residents have to provide proof of residency to receive the vaccine.

The appointment portal will opened at 7 a.m. Monday. By 8:30 a.m., all appointments at Central Florida stores were booked.

Publix is not allowing residents to make an appointment by phone — they must make an appointment online.
