COCOA BEACH, Fla. — Cocoa Beach Mayor Ben Malik has announced his resignation.

The announcement came during a City Commission meeting on Thursday.

Malik’s last city meeting will be Aug. 22.
“While we are sad to see him go, we want to wish him all the best in his future endeavors,” a statement from the city reads.

Vice mayor Keith Capizzi will be designated as the mayor for the remainder of Malik’s term.
