OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — A Circle K clerk was on the phone early Saturday when a trio of armed robbers burst into the gas station, scaled a counter and demanded money, the Osceola County Sheriff's Office said.

The gloved, hooded, masked men stormed the Circle K at Cypress Parkway and North Doverplum Avenue shortly before 2:15 a.m., said Twis Lizasuain, a Sheriff’s Office spokesman.

“When an employee attempted to activate the alarm, one of the suspects saw him and became aggressive with the employee,” Lizasuain said. “Another suspect fired a shot towards the employee but missed.”

Surveillance footage showed the clerk shoving one of the robbers and chasing them out of the convenience store.

During the tussle, the clerk told investigators he heard one of the robbers shout to his armed accomplice, “Shoot him!” Detectives said the shot missed the clerk by inches.

Lizasuain said the robber who was armed with a handgun was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black pants, black shoes and a black ski mask.

The third man was wearing a long-sleeved black shirt, gray pants, white shoes and a knitted ski mask, Lizasuain said.

Each robber had on blue latex gloves.

The trio, who remain at large, fled on foot with cash and cigarettes, deputies said.

No one was injured during the robbery, which continues to be investigated.
