DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Daytona Beach police said a mother accidentally shot her 2-year-old daughter Sunday morning inside an apartment complex.
The mother, Davesha Pough, told officers the little girl shot herself, but police do not believe that is the case.
Officers said the shooting happened inside the family's apartment on Jean Street.

Police said the little girl could've been killed after she was shot in the leg, and thankfully, she's expected to be OK.
But her mom and her boyfriend, Cashaod Williams, are now facing legal trouble.
Police released body camera video Monday afternoon showing the little girl being taken out to a stretcher after the shooting.
Officers arrested Pough and Williams. Pough first claimed the shot came from outside, but there was no broken glass.
Then she claimed the child shot herself, but police believe it was the mother who accidentally pulled the trigger.
The Daytona Beach police chief said the guns belong to Williams, who wasn't supposed to have them because he's a convicted felon.
He went before a judge Monday, who set bond at $41,000.
The chief said it wasn't clear exactly what the mother was doing with the gun as the shooting happened.
“It's just irresponsible gun ownership that could've probably cost the life of a young child,” said Daytona Beach police chief Craig Capri. “Thank God that didn't happen. The child is going to make a full recovery.”
Police found three guns inside the home, including two inside a kid's backpack.
The Florida Department of Children and Families now has custody of another child who lived there.
The little girl who was wounded was still in the hospital at last check.
