ORLANDO, Fla. — Channel 9 Eyewitness News anchor Nancy Alvarez will leave WFTV Channel 9 on Nov. 24.
Alvarez, who was born and raised in South Florida, started at Channel 9 in 2010.

In the past 11 years, she has covered hurricanes, the Pulse nightclub massacre and Pope Benedict XVI’s 2015 visit to the United States.
Alvarez also traveled to Puerto Rico many times, reporting on the damage and recovery efforts after Hurricane Maria.
She will join the Heart of Florida United Way as the senior vice president of community relations and equity impact.

Alvarez will be responsible for directly engaging underserved populations, with the goal of increasing awareness of the organization’s programs.
Because of Channel 9′s strong partnership with the Heart of Florida United Way, viewers will see Alvarez appear on Channel 9 Eyewitness News during major initiatives that affect Central Florida.
Kirstin Delgado will begin anchoring Channel 9 Eyewitness News This Morning, starting Nov. 29.

Delgado comes to Channel 9 most recently from WINK-TV in Ft. Myers, where she was an anchor and reporter.
Born in Puerto Rico, Delgado is bilingual and is passionate about the Latino community.
She graduated from Virginia’s Hampton University with a degree in broadcast journalism.
Delgado will join co-anchor Christian Bruey from 4:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. weekdays on Channel 9 Eyewitness News This Morning and from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. on Channel 9 Eyewitness News on WRDQ TV 27.
