ORLANDO, Fla. — Spring break season is underway in Central Florida, and visitor traffic has started picking up steam this weekend.
People have started flooding the beaches and flying in for theme parks as officials are wrapping up Bike Week.
“We were supposed to be at Disneyland this time last year, the day it closed,” said visitor Lyndsay Dukes. “We rescheduled for June, hoping we could go when school ended.”

The Dukes family rescheduled again, and then decided to come to Disney World in Florida instead, after it opened in July.
“We love Disney World,” Dukes said. “We came the week they opened, we came for Christmas and we’re here again.”

The Orlando International Airport expects about two million passengers to go through the airport this spring break.
Some headed to Disney, Universal and SeaWorld, but others headed to the coast.
COVID-19 is still a concern in Florida, as cases and hospitalizations have stopped declining as steeply as they were just a few weeks ago, despite more people getting vaccinated.
