Central Florida police mourn the loss of retired K-9 ‘Banner’

LEESBURG, Fla. — The Leesburg Police Department is mourning the passing of retired K-9 ‘Banner.’

Police said Banner was the highest-performing K-9 in LPD history.

In a Facebook post, police stated: ´ His work on the streets of Leesburg and his performance on the TV show “America’s Top Dog” were true testaments to his high drive and love of police work.”

Banner was able to enjoy two and a half years of retirement before crossing the Rainbow Bridge
