ORLANDO, Fla. — Central Florida is paying tribute to a civil rights icon.

When the City of Orlando was still strictly segregated in 1959, Father Nelson Pinder brought his work with sit-ins and protests here from the north. He passed away Sunday morning at the age of 89.
