Central Florida is seeing a decrease in COVID-19 cases. Here’s a look at the numbers

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Doctors are saying we’re taking a step in the right direction in the pandemic.

Here’s a look at the numbers.

  • Florida’s coronavirus cases have dropped 75% in the last month.
  • During the height of this peak, the state was recording more than 150,000 cases each week. Since then, infections have dropped steadily.

  • This past week saw the lowest case count the state recorded since the first week of July, with just under 38,000 new cases in Florida.
  • Hospitalizations across the state are also seeing a steady decline in coronavirus patient admissions.
  • In Orange County, the 14-day positivity rate is at 7.67%

  • In Marion County, the positivity rate has also fallen to 9.1%
  • Florida is now averaging about 4,600 new cases per day statewide.
