ORLANDO, Fla. — A presidential preference primary election will be held March 17 in Florida, and early voting begins Monday for Orange, Osceola and Brevard counties.

Early voting will begin Thursday in Lake County, and every other county will have to wait until next Saturday to vote.

Early voting ends March 14 or 15, depending on which county you live in.

Central Floridians will vote for a presidential candidate they would like to see representing their party on the general election ballot in November.

According to the Florida Division of Elections, the “designated political party delegates from Florida formally nominate the preferred presidential candidate at the respective party’s national convention.”

At the convention, the party will decide which presidential candidate will represent the party on the general election ballot.
