ORLANDO, Fla. — As Central Florida residents prepare for freezing temperatures this weekend, county leaders are spreading the word about cold weather shelters.
Here are locations around Central Florida offering shelters to those in need.
Orange County:
The Orange County government is working with the Homeless Services Network to offer shelter for residents, homeless individuals and people without stable housing at cold weather warming centers which are available beginning Friday at 6 p.m. through Monday morning.

The Rescue Outreach Mission in Sanford will be open as an emergency cold weather shelter this weekend for those experiencing homelessness needing shelter from the weather.

• LifePointe Church
3551 E. Orange Ave. in Eustis
Both will be open all three nights from 5 p.m. until 7 a.m. the following morning.
Masks are required at all cold-weather sheltering locations, and the Florida Department of Health will be conducting COVID-19 screenings at each shelter as well as offering hepatitis A, flu and COVID-19 vaccinations.

Marion County:
• Salvation Army Location: 320 NW 1st Ave. in Ocala
The Salvation Army’s check-in time is at 6:30 p.m.
