They announced a partnership Monday with metal processors Benteler and intel company Mobileye to develop and distribute even more autonomous vehicles.

“It’s very exciting to bring autonomous shuttles to the United States,” Benteler Managing Director Marco Kilmeir said. “We are convinced that this partnership is a successful combination to deliver to the market and to set standards in autonomous transportation.”

Each company brings its own experience and expertise to the table.

“Ultimately what Beep brings to this partnership is our leading proven mobility as a service offering,” Beep CEO Joe Moye said.

Beep has deployed 19 routes and services around the country as part of an expanded test program. In doing so, they’ve worked closely with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, stressing safety with the new technology.

“I do believe there’s a significant market…significant need for this,” Mobileye Vice President Johann Jungwirth said.
