The Casselberry Police Department wants to make people aware that the texts are not coming from their agency and are in fact part of a scam.
They say similar incidents have been reported by other law enforcement agencies across the country.
The police department is warning people to be cautious when clicking links that are sent through texts or emails, especially if the sender isn’t recognized.
