BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — During a work session Tuesday, interim superintendent Dr. Robert Schiller brought up the status of the school discipline policy.
“What we’re trying to do now is we set up a process that’s going to have very broad stakeholder input,” Schiller said.

Schiller said he hopes the district will have the results of an audit with input from surveys and interviews in the next four to five weeks.
Schoolboard member Jennifer Jenkins said she looked forward to the audit results.

“I appreciate Dr. Schiller saying these policies already exist, that these procedures already exist. How can we improve the implementation on our campuses” she said.
The school board, which is now amidst a new superintendent search, has been discussing school discipline for weeks.
School board chair Matt Susin said the process would take time.
“Every month, we’re going to be looking at a different section of policies and making sure that they’re up to date,” Susin said.
