‘Not a credible threat’: Brevard Public Schools give update on school threat email

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — On Thursday evening, Brevard Public Schools said employees received an email threatening a shooting at Andersen Elementary on Friday.

Brevard Public Schools released an update shortly after 5 a.m. Friday.

Officials said according to law enforcement, the school threat that was received in an email by district employees Thursday night was “not a credible threat.”

According to BPS officials, investigators spoke with the family and juvenile who allegedly sent the email, and said they had no knowledge of it and were cooperating in the investigation.

Officials said they are continuing to look into who sent the email.

On Thursday evening, Brevard Public Schools employees received an email threatening a shooting tomorrow at Andersen Elementary.

According to Facebook post, district security is working with law enforcement to investigate the threat.

As a precaution, extra security will be at Andersen Elementary on Friday.

“BPS and our law enforcement partners take threats seriously, and we will work to ensure everyone’s safety during the investigative process,” officials added.
